While becoming a mother certainly reorganizes your priority list, with baby bottles trumping Burberry and lipstick taking a backseat to Lego, Bows and Buttons is a strong believer in balance. So while you may have to trade in your decadent Dior clutch for a practical diaper bag, there is no reason why that said diaper cannot be sleek and elegant while toting around baby's diapers. And we know, we know, dressing your wee tot feeds your sartorial desires way more then dressing yourself. But when all is said and done, and those maternity pants have been hung up for good (or at least until next time...) and baby is healthy and happy in a happening Burberry onesie, it's time to start thinking about you. And that Chanel purse. And how good that Chanel purse would look ON you. After all, these seemingly trivial but oh-so delectable sartorial delights make Mommy happy. And a happy Mommy makes a more patient, more forgiving, more calm mommy...and that 's something we are not about to question.

So in tribute to TGIF Motherhood everywhere, Bows and Buttons is bringing you a different Style Maverick Mommy (or SMM) to you every Friday. Number #8 on our list of posh mothers is Elle MacPherson, one of the original Supermodels of Swimsuit Illustrated fame, mother to Arpad & Aurelius, and dubbed "The Body" in the Industry.

Ms. MacPherson has been the cause of much speculation and debate as she has been photographed on what the tabloids have coined "the school run" in glamourous ensembles, turning it into a catwalk. As a mother of two and a more mature woman of 47, some feel leather pants, fur gilets, and studded Louboutin pumps proper child dropping-off attire do not make. B&B thinks whatever your take may be, if you are referred to as "The Body" and look fabulous as she does, then go for it. Most of us may not look like Elle, and that's ok. But maybe she can inspire harried moms everywhere to infuse some Supermodel glamour into our everyday lives by throwing on a fabulous faux-fur vest.

Elle gravitates towards a boho-rocker look which suits her lanky body well. Fur vests are a must and so so Supermodel-esque of the past, dont cha think? She adores both black and coloured leather; leather pants, jackets, and skirts. Boho touches include filmy scarves, floppy hats, and high-waisted denim. She also alternates between a tuff motorcyclye boot and a Va-va-voom pump with studs to give it a bit of edge. Looking for some Supermodel meets Rock sassiness? Shop on...
xoxo,
Ann-Marie
