Bows & Buttons: Spotlight on...Paige Lauren Baby

If last week's Spotlight On...post was all about eclectic and quirky baby clothes with all the bells and whistles, than this week's post showcases simple and understated babywear. Enter Paige Lauren, a baby boutique based out of Los Angles by the the designer of the same name.

According to their website, Paige Lauren offers clothes which are "simple, unadorned. They rely on luxurious fabrics, fine tailoring, and subtle yet thoughtful details". The company was borneout of a gap in the market for babywear which was simple in design, yet luxiourious without all of the gaudy bling of past collections. Paige herself recollects: "I would walk into baby boutiques and everything in the stores was over-designed. I knew plenty of moms who wanted the best for their babies, and who appreciated clothes that would never go out of style. I couldn’t find what I wanted so I decided I should do it myself". That DIY spirit resulted in a brand which is chic in its simplicity and subtlness. Selma Blair recently tweeted a picture of her son Adam wearing one of Lauren's easy-breezy rompers as well as stocking her son's closet with plenty of Lauren's designs.

Lauren's designs bear the mark of "less is more". The collection comprises of separates, rompers, and shift dresses in a colour palette of mostly muted tones with the occasional pop of aqua, fuschia, and lime greesn. Any detail, embellishment and/or trim is subtle, simple and deliberatly placed. The whold line speaks of a very minimalist comfoprt for baby. Stylish lougnewear for baby if you will. You can easily see your little girl in an easy-breezy shift dress and your little guy in one of the matching rompers going about the business of play. The pieces are well known for being created from soft, luxerious material which is gentle on babies skin. At such a great price point and with such precious dsigns, it is eay to snap up multiples and having fun mixing and matching.
